About

This is our blog about our lives in the Gambia. We are 50 somethings who have been able to retire early so are still active and enjoying life. If you notice a change in style that will be because I’ve written some and my wife has written others.

That was the plan, but life never goes according to plan, does it? Our plans have changed and we have  permission to build on a plot of land we own in the UK. Having watched many editions of “Grand Designs” and followed building projects here in The Gambia we believe it is ESSENTIAL that we spend as much time as possible on site, working with the professional staff we will employ. We also need to free up some working capital so we are selling our dream home in Sanyang and intend to return to England as soon as possible.

If you’d like to view the property, please use the comments to send me a message. If you know anyone who has ever expressed a desire or a dream to own a holiday home or retirement home in the Tropics, do them a favour and send them a link to this blog!

Please feel free to comment – we’d both welcome your thoughts on this blog.

If you’d like to know a little bit about our house in The Gambia, you might want to look at (and like and share) our Facebook page, Our House In The Gambia.

  1. Hi there. I’m from the community pool. If that is so, then I guess you can use this blog (along with facebook) to promote the house (more photos, any strong points, etc). I mean, as that not all people do blogging (or blogwalking, for that matter), there aplenty too who don’t have s facebook account. Good luck. 🙂
